POST DOC FIELD DOCTOR ORTHOPEDIC PROGRAMME

The Toronto programme continues to be a success.

The Vancouver programme has unfortunately been cancelled by WSCC. CMCC has offered to present a module if there is sufficient interest, but they cannot pick up the entire programme.

 

CHIROPRACTIC ORTHOPEDIC RESIDENCY PROGRAMME:

DR. GUY WESTON WILL PREPARE A LETTER FOR THE PRESIDENT TO SEND TO CMCC, WHICH WILL POINT OUT TO CMCC WHY AN ORTHOPEDIC RESIDENCY PROGRAMME AT CMCC WOULD BENEFIT CMCC.

PUBLISHING REPORT

DR. SIE IS CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN THE LACC POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME.

HE IS PREPARING A PAPER ON WHIPLASH.

DR. CORBETT HAS PUBLISHED 2 PAPERS ON CONCUSSIONS IN HOCKEY PLAYERS, AND HAS 2 PAPERS ON PARADOXICAL MOTION IN THE CERVICAL SPINE READY FOR PUBLISHING.

NEXT MEETING of the C.C.O.C. Executive:    APRIL 2002 IN TORONTO IN CONJUNCTION WITH AN ORTHOPEDICS CLASS

 


 

CURRENCY CRITERIA FOR THE COLLEGE OF CHIROPRACTIC ORTHOPEDISTS (CANADA)
(C.C.O.(C.) MEMBERSHIP FORM
(To be completed by all fellows only, annually by March 31st.)
Please complete and return this form along with your annual dues to the
Secretary of C.C.O.(C.) to maintain your member status within the College.

 

The CCO(C) Currency Criteria is now a 30 hour system, where 30 hours of credits must be accumulated over a 2 year time frame.

 

1) Points will be awarded according to the actual number of
hours of post grad attended. CCO(C) members will provide CCO(C) with a certificate of attendance.


The list of acceptable organizations includes:
- Chiropractic orthopedic post graduate program seminars in Toronto

- American Back Society
- Seminars of other fellowship programs ( rehabilitation, sports sciences, neurology, etc.)
- ACCO
- Annual CCR (Canada) meetings
-Société pour l'avancement de la science chiropratique.

-PMRF

- Other seminars which the CCO(C) board judges appropriate.


2) Options:


- 10 hours per year for sitting on the board of CCO(C).
- 30 hours for teaching an orthopedic post grad module
- 20 hours for publishing a paper in a referred peer reviewed or
approved journal.( must include a review of the literature)
- 10 hours for a pertinent book review.
- 30 hours for acting as an examiner at ABCO ( or eventually our own
exams ).
- 10 hours for acting as an examiner at the Canadian or National
Boards or for representing our college in these organizations.
